Set in a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don't see eye to eye. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves... and all the twists and turns along the way!
Auditions December 11th
Shows March 7th, 8th, 9th
What to Expect:
-
Auditions will be at 161 Davis Road on Wednesday December 11th from 7:00-9:00
-
Auditionees will be expected to stay for the entire audition time
-
Be prepared to arrive a little early to fill out paperwork
-
We'll start by doing a dance call, so please dress comfortably
-
We'll then go into choice songs from everyone into each character song
-
Auditions are set up where everyone performs their material in front of the rest of the auditionees, which is not intended to create a competitive environment. If you do not feel comfortable performing in front of everyone, please disclose that to us via email before auditions
-
-
With time permitting, we will also try to do cold reads for each character
Callbacks: We will decide if we're holding in-person callbacks on December 14th after viewing everyone's audition material. With the decision to call people back, we will likely be asking a select few auditionees to email us a video of a different character's material so we can get a better grasp of their range.
To Prepare:
Each auditionee needs to prepare a one minute song of choice that best suits your vocal range and comfortability as well as at least one song from this list:
-
Amalia Balash: "No More Candy" and "Vanilla Ice Cream"
-
The eager new employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Despite being a skilled saleswoman, she easily becomes intimated and nervous. Attractive, bright, and a lover of literature.
-
-
Georg Nowack: "Tonight at Eight" and "She Loves Me"
-
An established employee of Maraczek's Parfumerie, he resembles a hopeless romantic. Shy, intelligent, and soft spoken.
-
-
Ilona Ritter: "I Resolve"
-
Employed at Maraczek's Parfumerie. She is sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love.
-
-
Steven Kodaly: "Ilona" and "Grand Knowing You"
-
A well respected and liked employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Though he is considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is more of a shallow womanizer.
-
-
Arpad Laszlo: "Try Me"
-
Delivery boy at Maraczek's Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and commitment to his job remarkable. He is ambitious and adorable.
-
-
Ladislav Sipos: "Perspective"
-
Not the brightest employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father.
-
-
Mr. Maraczek: "Days Gone By"
-
Owner of Maraczek's Parfumerie. With a commanding presence, his dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife.
-
-
